The Never-Ending Road Test

Through the Second Career program, the LEHC assists many people in pursuing further education and training for new career directions. This is a story about an aspiring and committed truck driver. The LEHC supported him with the cost of the road test, not once or twice, but three times! It’s not an easy test for new drivers, but one that he needed in order to pursue his new in-demand career. He recently passed the road test and accepted a job offer in his area of training! Where could you see yourself?

We've Got Your Back!

The Positivity Wall

Here at the LEHC, like everywhere else, things are very different lately. This may be the first truly global pandemic in history and it seems to have caught humanity off guard. The news cycle is constant covid-19 pandemic articles and people may feel like they are running out of things to do. It is definitely important to stay up to date with the latest news about recommendations and laws from medical professionals and government, but it can also be nice to add other things in the mix every once in a while.

The LEHC has created the positivity wall. The LEHC team has set this up in what would normally be our busy resource centre to give space for positive thoughts and ideas in a very uncertain and scary time. We will share a video with some of those messages soon. Please, offer some of your own in the comments!

We've Got Your Back!

Seeing the positive side of things, this has also been a good time to plan and make sure that the LEHC has an effective and helpful response regardless of circumstance. Stay connected.

LEHC Needs Gently Used Casual and Professional Women’s Wear. Please Donate.

As we approach international women’s day on Sunday, March 8, 2020 it is important to reflect both on how far we’ve come with women’s rights and equality but also how far there is still left to go. Take interview and work clothing, for example. Every year, Moores generously donates many suits for men in need to access for interviews or networking efforts or even just to boost confidence. The LEHC has started to focus more on clothing for women in need and wants to build up its collection to support its women clients in the same way. Contact LEHC to donate or inform us if you know of any good sources! 519-439-0501 or info@lehc.ca. Thank you in advance for your support!

Happy International Women’s Day! Let’s celebrate the strength and courage of women, not just on this day but every day.
