LEHC Updates: COVID-19

Effective March 18, 2020

Please note, the LEHC and the Advocacy Department will be switching to remote support until further notice. Engage online at www.lehc.ca or by calling 519-439-0501 or emailing info@lehc.ca or tbrooks@lehc.ca

Due to the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus, the LEHC will switch to remote support until further notice. The provincial and federal governments both released statements today, with a state of emergency being declared in Ontario until at least March 31, 2020. In the interest of public safety, we will be booking new appointments and supporting our clients by phone or email. We join our community partners in the effort to reduce and stop the spread of the virus, and we hope you will stay safe and healthy, taking all of the recommended precautions from medical professionals.

LEHC Needs Gently Used Casual and Professional Women’s Wear. Please Donate.

As we approach international women’s day on Sunday, March 8, 2020 it is important to reflect both on how far we’ve come with women’s rights and equality but also how far there is still left to go. Take interview and work clothing, for example. Every year, Moores generously donates many suits for men in need to access for interviews or networking efforts or even just to boost confidence. The LEHC has started to focus more on clothing for women in need and wants to build up its collection to support its women clients in the same way. Contact LEHC to donate or inform us if you know of any good sources! 519-439-0501 or info@lehc.ca. Thank you in advance for your support!

Happy International Women’s Day! Let’s celebrate the strength and courage of women, not just on this day but every day.

This may foreshadow municipal development elsewhere in the province and country as the limits of current urban centres are tested and infrastructural development becomes necessary in non-urban regions.
